Spectral Edge was born out of the Colour and Vision Group (part of the School of Computing Sciences) at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich. We were spun off as an independent company in 2014 to exploit research into image fusion and colour perception technologies.
In 2016 we raised £1.5m in funding, to transform our patented technology into real world products.
We are a team of ten and collectively we have 100 years’ plus in imaging R&D. Our patented technology, known as Phusion, enhances visual content for a diverse range of applications including computational photography on smartphones, augmented reality, and content accessibility.
We recently launched Phusion for TV, to improve visual experiences and content accessibility associated with colour blindness.
We will soon be launching Phusion for photography, to deliver more detailed, more beautiful and natural-looking images on smartphones, tablets and other consumer electronics (CE) devices.
